The idea behind it was to create a building that could shake off the institutional reputation of the NHS and successfully exemplify modern community health care. Half of the frontage is glazed, making the building feel open and inviting, while the need for privacy is met with the consulting rooms in the timber box at the back. Likewise, the nursery is located under a protective canopy, creating a safe and sheltered area for children. The design for this part is delicate and smart, the nursery part of the building, and yet separate from it.
