Erected in 2006 by Regency Homes to front their new residential apartment block, it marks the former site of the East End Exhibition Centre, where Cody ran his world famous Wild West show from 16 November 1891 until 27th February 1892. Such was the demand for the show, entitled The Drama of Civilisation, that the centre was renovated to hold a maximum of 7000 seats. While Buffalo Bill was the titular star, the show also features famous sharpshooter Annie Oakley, as well as Kicking Bear, Short Bull and One Bull, who were all members of the Sioux tribe.
