Originally from a small town near Sydney, Australia, he believes that Glasgow suffers from having a creative space for fellow street artists and graffiti experts. His well-earned reputation has allowed him to earn a living from his art, having been commissioned by Glasgow City Council to do a series of pieces promoting the 2014 Commonwealth Games when the city won the hosting duties in 2008.

This piece, simply known as Girl with Magnifying Glass, was only completed in 2012. Stretching up four storeys, it is unknown if this was a commission or of Smug’s own design, and if so, how he managed to get permission. In any case, it is a beautiful piece of work, the artist cleverly signing it with his moniker transformed into the girl’s necklace.
