As well as one of the oldest universities in the land, including the famous School of Art, Glasgow has a number old public school buildings, echoes of when they were built like grand palaces instead of the grey, rigid, cramped classrooms of modern times. While some have fallen into disrepair, others have been renovated to give them a new lease of life.
